Tigers drop second straight SWAC game

GRAMBLING, La. — Just days after suffering their first conference loss of the season, the Tigers lost their first home game of the season with a 64-57 nail-biter against Prairie View A&M at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center in Southwestern Athletic Conference action.

Grambling (9-9, 3-2 SWAC) trailed by just five points at the break and continued to fight in the second half. The Tigers gained the lead in the second half but relinquished the lead with a slew of misses from downtown (3-of-23). Grambling was led by Travon Bunch who finished with a game-high 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while teammate Trevell Cunningham added 11 points, two rebounds, and one steal. Fellow Tiger Ivy Smith, Jr. chipped in with 10 points, four boards and three assists in the loss.
Devante Jackson finished with 8 points and 9 rebounds against Prairie View.
As a team, Grambling committed 13 turnovers while Prairie View committed just eight.

The Panthers were led by Gerard Andrus who produced a double-double and finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

Post player DeVante Jackson struggled from the floor (2-of-9) and finished with eight points and nine rebounds for Grambling.
